Mentorship Activities

I have worked with numerous students on papers (see * on publication pages) and mentored in a supervisory capacity, as follows:

Andrea Distel (2021–present; Graduate student, ASU). Primary co-supervisor (genesis of research project, implementation, and guiding student through research principles, sample preparation, data collection, data reduction, interpretation, conference abstract and future manuscript preparation) and committee member.

Xeynab Mouti (2019–present; Barrett Fellows @ CLAS Centers program, ASU; NASA Space Grant Fellow). Primary co-supervisor (genesis of research project, implementation, and guiding student through research principles, data reduction, interpretation, and preparation of a conference abstract and future manuscript). Student was awarded a NASA Space Grant Fellowship to continue initial honors college internship project.

Zachary Torrano (2019–2020; Graduate student, ASU). Advised and collaborated with student on PhD research (implementation, guiding student through data acquisition and reduction, interpretation, and preparation of two manuscripts). Resulted in two peer-reviewed manuscripts (student first author).

Jasmine Nguyen (2019–2020; Barrett Fellows @ CLAS Centers program, ASU). Primary co-supervisor. Primary co-supervisor (genesis of research project, implementation, and guiding student through research principles and data reduction that will be contributed to a future manuscript publication).

Harold Carrigan (2017–2018; Barrett Fellows @ CLAS Centers program, ASU). Research implementation, analysis, and interpretation of data that will be contributed to a future manuscript publication.

Jennifer Sierchio (2010–2011; Independent study; University of Arizona). Secondary supervisor. Research implementation, analysis, and interpretation of data that resulted in a first author abstract for the student.

Several work experience students (2006–2009; Open University). Co-supervisor. Worked with students in a laboratory environment, showed them sample preparation techniques and provided scanning electron microscope training.
